  • Peter has built this reputation over the course of many trials, applications and appeals involving shareholder and partnership disputes, securities, director’s and officer’s liability, competition, professional negligence, wrongful dismissal, estates, and real estate development, as well as a wide variety of contractual disputes
  • He has also participated as counsel and as arbitrator in a number of arbitrations involving commercial issues
  • In addition, Peter has appeared before a wide variety of regulatory tribunals, including the Ontario and Nova Scotia Securities Commissions, The Ontario District Council of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada, and the Discipline Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario
  • Peter has prosecuted discipline cases on behalf of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
  • Peter acted as lead counsel for a group of affected families before the Inquiry Into Pediatric Forensic Pathology in Ontario and a citizens group in the Cornwall Public Inquiry

Professional Activities

  • Peter is a bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada, co-chairs its Audit & Finance Committee, co-chairs the Mentoring Task Force, and sits on its Priority Planning, Professional Development, Litigation and Compensation committees
  • He is a past director of The Advocates’ Society
